What is CBT?

Cognitive behaviour therapy has become well established as the most effective treatment for anxiety and depression, and has the most supporting evidence of any treatment approach in treating a range of psychological problems. It is a collaborative approach, where you work with a therapist to understand problems in a comprehensive way, and develop a range of helpful, and sustainable strategies to manage psychological problems, in effect becoming your own therapist. Cognitive behavioural strategies are also used in sporting, music, and work environments to improve performance.

Additionally, Kirsty works from a solution focused perspective, and utilises mindfulness practice in intervention, and since the late 1980s has been working as a mental health clinician with people experiencing a range of mental health issues.

Kirsty is available for individual appointments Monday to Friday, at rooms in Bethlehem, Tauranga, or elsewhere by arrangement. Hourly rate applies.
